"Oh Luke!" my Mom said. "Your very first tooth! You are growing up, and soon you will get grown up teeth!"

My Mom laughed, but I did not see anything funny about this situation.

"When you start to get older, your body starts to grow. Your mouth and your teeth also grow to fit the rest of your growing body," she explained. "So, the teeth that you have had since you were a baby, sometimes called baby-teeth, begin to fall out to make room for the bigger and stronger teeth to take their places. These new teeth that will grow in are sometimes called grown-up teeth."

"Well, do I have to water these new teeth to make them grow?" I asked. "Because right now all I feel is a little hole where the baby tooth was."

"No dear, the big teeth will grow in all by themselves," she replied.

"That’s a relief" I said with a sigh. "Because I remember when I tried to help you plant some herbs in the garden, and they all died." I obviously am not
